Alma Mater

In the valley near the water
Stands our alma mater.
Halls of learning, lifetime friendships,
These we will never sever.
Those who have parted and gone on their way
Will be remembered as day passes day.
And the blue and white lives on forever,
“Hail, oh hail, oh Chimacum.”

Our mission is to create a competitive Band centered organization that will perform in Festivals, community events and other venues as well as promote a high-level appreciation for the performance and art of music. Through music we achieve higher-level thinking skills, creativity, and the enjoyment of performing for others. Our goals are as follows:

1. To create a Competitive/Creative team and learning environment
2. To assist in a higher level of education
3. To achieve a higher understanding of music
4. To organize a Competitive/Creative Band team
5. To attend regional and non-regional competitions and higher
6. To support our fellow members in learning about music
7. To raise funds for entry fees, clinics, camps, trips, instructors and materials

We believe that those who have pride in themselves will generally project a positive attitude and have a better appreciation for life, music, and the arts. Those who have a positive attitude, regardless of their individual skills will always have a place in the Chimacum High School Band Program.
