“News from the Library” The October Scholastic book orders are now available from the library or online at Scholastic.com/bookclub, sign in ~ name: chimacum_library and password: chimacum_library until Nov 1st.
Dental Health Services Coming in School Based Health Centers: Good oral health is an important part of total body health. That is why we are happy to announce the addition of preventive dental/oral health services to the school based health clinic schedule. Students without dental insurance or who have Medicaid insurance are eligible. Parental consent is required.
Cyndi Newman, RDH, Jefferson County Oral Health Program Coordinator/Dental Hygienist will be providing the services. The clinics will offer dental/oral health assessments, oral health instructions, dental cleanings, fluoride applications, dental sealants, and dental referrals. These services will be available by appointment on the following dates: Please call 385-9400 for more information and to schedule an appointment.
Chimacum High School Tuesday, November 17 /Tuesday, December 15
Dance Team: The “Dance Team” meets on Tuesday and Thursdays from 2:25 – 3:10. Meet in the commons, then practice in the choir room. Bus passes available. All middle school students invited to join.
Guitar and Mandolin lessons – Begins on October 20th. Signup sheets are in the MS office. Instruments are provided.
Violin Lessons to begin – We need 6 students who are interested in taking violin lessons. The violins will be provided for you to use. This class will be held after school on Mondays. The class will begin as soon as we have 6 students signed up for class. The signup sheet is in the office on the counter.
Dance Rules: If you receive a disciplinary referral 10 days prior to the dance you will not be allowed to attend the dance. So, please be on your best behavior. October 9- 23
Homework Spot: The Jefferson County Library is offering homework assistance at the library. In a friendly environment, students have a place to work on projects and assignments, surrounded by the rich resources of the library. Volunteer adult tutors, along with Chimacum High School Honor Society members, are available to assist individuals or small groups as needed. The “Homework Spot” is held on Tuesday and Thursday during the school year from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. beginning October 6th. The “Homework Spot” is free…
Sports: Boys who are interested in playing basketball should start getting their paper work turned in. If you did not play football you must complete a sports packet. If you are in the 8th grade and had a physical you don’t need a physical, but you do have other paper to complete. 7th Grade boys must have a physical and complete the packet.
Cafeteria News: Please remember to keep all food and drink in the commons.
