Contest/Scholarship

Rachel’s Challenge is looking for some creative FOR members to put their talents to good use.

Here is what you can do:

1.     Write a theatrical play-You can even have your drama department help you with this.  They may even want to perform it.

2.     Write and perform a song.  Any kind of song is acceptable, but it needs to be appropriate for all ages (rock, rap, classical, etc.)

3.     Create a public service announcement similar to those that Foundation for a Better Life created.

4.     Create a documentary.

Of course, each of the options needs to relate to Rachel Scott, starting a chain reaction, or some other Rachel’s Challenge related theme.

Here is the best news.  If Rachel’s Challenge receives enough entries of a high quality, we will be giving awards to the top 3:

1.  First Place:  $1,000

2.  Second Place:  $750

3.  Third Place:  $500

Note #1:  Rachel’s Challenge will only give awards to entries that are of a quality that can be used by our organization.  So, there is a chance no entry will receive a cash award.  Make sure to put your best effort forward!

Note #2:  If a single student does all of the work, then the award will come in the form of a scholarship for that specific student.  If multiple students contribute, then the scholarship money will be divided evenly.  Finally, if an entire FOR Program contributes, the award will be given to the school to decide how to use the funds.

All entries should be shipped to:

Rachel’s Challenge

Attn:  FOR Contest

8152 Southpark Lane

Littleton, CO 80120

All entries must be received by May 1, 2009.

Good Luck!
